The second round of online counselling for admissions was completed by the university on Monday.

Of the total 511 state quota seats of postgraduate (PG) and PG diploma courses in the state’s three government and four private medical colleges, 126 have been declared vacant by the BFUHS after two rounds of online counselling.

As many as 118 (25%) of a total of 475 MD/MS seats in these colleges were declared vacant. Also, five out of 36 diploma courses seats were declared vacant in four medical colleges.

The university will hold an online mop-up round of counselling from Thursday and a provisional merit list of aspirants will be displayed on March 16.

A total of 40 vacant MD/MS and diploma seats are available for mop-up round of counselling in government medical colleges with 16 in Patiala, 12 each in Amritsar and Faridkot.

The number of such seats is 78 in four private medical colleges — 23 in Sri Guru Ram Das Medical College, Amritsar, 16 in Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana and 21 in Christian Medical College, Ludhiana and 18 in Adesh Medical College, Bathinda.

All the three seats in postgraduate diploma in sports medicine at the Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala, are vacant.

The university will also hold walk-in counselling at the university campus for a stray vacancy round if any seats are left vacant after the mop-up round.

“Candidates will deposit the registration fee and transfer the six-month fee on the spot in the university account,” said BFUHS registrar Nirmal Ouseppachan.
