Chandigarh estate office to auction commercial, nursing home sites on freehold basis

After more than a decade, the UT Estate office is offering commercial and nursing home sites on freehold basis to attract more buyers.
Most of the previous department’s auction of commercial and nursing home sites offered on leasehold basis found few takers. Recently, Chandigarh administration decided to auction the properties with it and its agencies on freehold basis to attract more buyers. Two nursing home sites with reserve price of ₹6.71 crore and an area of 763.33 square yard each are available in Sector 51.
The department is also offering an SCO site of Sector-42 in auction with a reserve price of ₹3.73 crore. Nine booth sites with reserve price ranging from ₹61 lakh to ₹1.66 crore are up for auction in Sectors 33, 36, 44 and 39.
Interested bidders can complete requisite paper work till March 22. Between March 23 and 25, these documents will be considered by the department and the bidder can start bidding from 9 am on March 26 and will be able to get the final bid by March 28 at 11 am.
According to the department, 5% additional charge for the corner plot of nursing home sites will be charged.
Earlier, the department had kept eight residential properties in auction on freehold, whose financial bid was opened on Wednesday. In the auction, the department received revenue of ₹37.5 crore from all of its eight plots, while the total reserve price of these properties was close to ₹18 crore.
