Chandigarh: From February 6, get doorstep delivery of Sampark services

The facility that can be booked online or via phone will entail a fee; for availing of any single service at home, residents will have to pay ₹200, inclusive of taxes, and every subsequent service transaction during the visit will entail a ₹100 charge, inclusive of taxes

Come February 6, city residents will be able to skip the hassle of visiting e-Sampark centres, with the UT administration announcing doorstep delivery of all 54 services offered by them.

But the facility will come at a cost. For availing of any single service at home, residents will have to pay ₹200, inclusive of taxes, and every subsequent service transaction during the visit will entail a ₹100 charge, inclusive of taxes.

The doorstep appointments can be booked through the e-Sampark website, e-Sampark mobile app or toll-free number 1800-180-1725.

Citizens can also continue to avail of the services by visiting the e-Sampark centres, which are 45 in number in Chandigarh.

No facilitation charges for 20 services

Taking note of residents’ feedback, UT administrator Banwarilal Purohit also decided not to levy any facilitation charges for 20 services and not to increase facilitation charges for 28 services.

These services include issuance of Scheduled Caste certificate, Other Backward Class certificate, legal heir certificate, character certificate, birth and death certificates, UDID disability card, and tenant and servant verification.

Meanwhile, the UT administration also announced new facilitation charges for nine services being offered by e-Sampark centres. These include sale of e-stamp paper, revenue stamps, court fee, electricity bill payment, water bill payment, application for college admission and college fee payment.

“As Sampark is acting as a one-stop solution for providing government to consumer services for the last 20 years, the expenses on manpower, consumables, hardware and software maintenance have increased multifold. Thus, it has been decided to levy a nominal facilitation charge on nine services in both offline and online mode (with 50% rebate on online mode) for availing these facilities. As compared to similar centres in Punjab and Haryana, most of the services offered through Sampark in Chandigarh are either free or with very less facilitation charges,” the administration said in its statement.

50% rebate on online payments

For services where facilitation charges are levied, residents will be provided 50% rebate on the charge if the payment is made online via e-Sampark website or mobile app (see box).
