Denotified institutions will be reopened on basis of need: HP CM Sukhu

Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday said that his government will consider reopening the denotified institutions on the basis of requirement after a review.
Sukhu said the government would first make budget provision and appoint staff to run these institutions.
Taking a dig at leader of Opposition, Sukhu said, “I am curious to know as to what divine power had entered Jai Ram Thakur that he opened over 900 institutions in the last six months of his term.”
The CM said out of these institutions, 386 were schools and 584 others, which were opened without a budget and about ₹5,000 crore was required to run them.
Sukhu said the previous government opened community health centres where only a compounder was posted, while high schools were opened just by appointing peons.
He claimed that the previous government opened schools without teachers just before the elections. These included 130 senior secondary schools, where science classes have been started without a teacher, he added.
He further said that his government will not let even a single child be deprived of education. Where there will be a need, a school will be opened even for a single child, Sukhu said.
He said that his government will make full disclosure of the institutions opened by the previous regime without budget provision and staff in the governor’s address.
