A man was booked for molesting a 20-year-old woman, the daughter of his friend, after barging into her house on Thursday.

The accused, Amit Singh, a resident of Preet Nagar, was booked after a four-month-long investigation. In her complaint, the victim, a resident of Dhillon Nagar, said the accused, who was her father’s friend, frequently visited their house, and would often try to touch her inappropriately.

The victim said on April 4 the accused barged into her house, while she was alone at home and molested her.However, he fled after she raised the alarm.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sukhdev Singh, who is investigating the case, said a case was registered under Sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. A hunt is on for his arrest.
