Congress MLA from Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaira has asked chief minister Bhagwant Mann to fix the accountability of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) in the naib tehsildar recruitment scam.

In a letter to the CM, Khaira said the recruitment process should be scrapped and the exam should be re-conducted in a transparent manner. “A show-cause notice should be issued to the PPSC chairman and its members to explain how under their watch Bluetooth devices were brought inside the exam centres and lack adequate arrangements to make examination full proof.”

“PPSC examination secretary should be dismissed under Article 311 for gross failure to do his duty,” he said, adding that the exams conducted by the PPSC since the last two years should be investigated.

All pending reforms in the PPSC recruitment should be made on priority like increasing the age of DSP from 28 years to 32 years, making CSAT exam as qualifying in line of the UPSC and other state’s public service commissions, introducing Punjab domicile as condition to get job in Punjab etc, he said. “All exams of the PPSC should be conducted in Punjabi and English,” he said.
