Goldy Brar, his aides booked for running extortion racket in Ludhiana

The Division No 4 police have booked gangster Goldy Brar, one of the accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case and currently based in Canada, along with his aides, for allegedly running an extortion racket in the city. Two members of the gang have been arrested, police said on Saturday.

Apart from Goldy Brar, the other accused have been identified as Jatin, alias Sam, a resident of Chhwani Mohalla; Jaspreet Singh, alias Jassu, of New Shivpuri; Shubham Grover; Virender Charan; Naresh Soni; Manav; Vikas; Rajesh alias Kanu; Vikram Sandeep; Rajan Sidhu, alias Nanni; Jaspreet Singh, alias Jass; Jatin Kataria and Sandeep.

Police have arrested Jatin, alias Sam, and Jaspreet Singh.

ASI Nirmal Singh, who is investigating the case, said an FIR has been registered under Sections 111(1,2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. He said investigations revealed that the accused were allegedly running an extortion racket and threatening people to extort money.

He added that raids are on to arrest the remaining accused.
