Guest teachers protest in Karnal
The teachers reached Karnal from different parts of the state and took out a protest march in Karnal. The teachers later agreed to end their protest after they got an assurance of a meeting with the chief minister

: Agitated over transfer outside home districts, scores of guest teachers of government schools on Sunday held a protest in Karnal. The teachers reached Karnal from different parts of the state and took out a protest march. The sloganeering teachers tried to gherao the chief minister’s residence but they were stopped by the police. They accused the government of transferring them to 200 to 300 km away from their home due to which they were not be able to return home after duty. Heavy police force was deployed near the CM’s residence to maintain law and order situation. The teachers later agreed to end their protest after they got an assurance of a meeting with the chief minister.
