The Punjab and Haryana high court has directed the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to restore power connection of a locality of New Sunny Enclave in Kharar.

The high court bench of justice HS Sidhu acted on the plea of residents of Sector 123, T-Block, New Sunny Enclave, who has alleged that the power connection of the locality was disconnected on Wednesday.

Abhimanyu Kalsy, the petitioner’s lawyer said, due to non- availability of infrastructure for power supply and dispute between Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and the developer, PSPCL had disconnected power connection in the past as well, which was restored after court’s intervention.

Meanwhile, during the hearing PSPCL counsel maintained that electricity connection of the premises of the applicants was not disconnected.

However, in view of plea, the court directed if the electricity connection to the petitioners was disconnected, the same should be restored forthwith.
