HC issues notice of motion to Haryana on Gurugram man plea seeking CBI probe

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Tuesday issued a notice of motion to the Haryana government and the director general of police for May 7 next year, on a plea seeking the transfer of a case from Gurugram police to an independent investigating agency like the CBI.

Through his advocate Nilesh Bhardwaj, Sanka alleged that repeated FIRs were registered against him by the Gurgaon police at the behest of IREO Company with the sole objective of harassing him and keeping him in jail.

He requested the transfer of the investigation in an FIR (No 225 of 2025 PS Sector-65) Gurgaon to some independent agency, such as the CBI.

In November, a Gurgaon court had convicted Sanka, the former MD of IREO Residency Company Private Limited, and co-accused Meenu Sharma of cheating, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence in a fake medical prescription case. Over the years, multiple FIRs (totalling six) have been registered against Sanka. He is currently out on bail.
