Addressing a public meeting at Bijhari, the chief minister said the four years of the current BJP regime were full of achievements and accomplishments despite almost two years being adversely affected due to the Covid pandemic.

He said all this was possible due to the active support of the people of the state and the benevolence of the Central leadership. He said Himachal Pradesh also emerged as a champion in the vaccination campaign and now was pioneering vaccinating the youth in the age group of 15 to 18 years.

Thakur said that the state government has reduced the age limit for the old-age pension to 60 years for all irrespective of their income.

He said that 7.50 lakh beneficiaries would get benefited from old-age pension schemes and 1,300 crore would be spent on it.

The chief minister congratulated the people of the area for developmental projects which were dedicated by him on Sunday. He said efforts would be made to ensure that all the projects were completed within the stipulated time period to check price escalation.

He also announced to upgrade the PHC, Bhota, to the CHC, the opening of ITI at Bijhari, 10 lakh for a bridge at Kalwara, opening of the veterinary dispensary at Baragran and upgrade of veterinary dispensary Bayar to the veterinary hospital.

He announced that temporary police posts at Bhaota and Bijhari would be made regular police posts.

Earlier, the chief minister inaugurated 2.47 crore 10-bedded ayurvedic hospital building at Bijhari, 1.28 crore science lab building in Government Senior Secondary School, Jaure Amb, 6.33 crore bridge over Sirhali khud near Harsour on the Barsar-Shahtalai road, 4.07 crore Chod nullah bridge on Bijhari Chalsai Chaklada Ambota Ghangot road and various other projects.

The chief minister laid the foundation stones of 6.88 crore bridge over Sukkar Khud on Bara Khalot Sudar Batalau Jaure Ghat road, 46 lakh room for PSA oxygen and manifold system at Civil Hospital, Barsar, and 137.57 crore augmentation of the source of various LWSS from the Beas river of Barsar area.

The CM performed a ‘puja’ at Baba Balaknath temple at Deotsidh and inaugurated 10.34 crore Langar Bhawan in the temple.

He also performed foundation laying ceremonies of 15.95.87 crore inns at Deotsidh temple complex.

Union information and broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur thanked the chief minister for inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of developmental projects. He said that it was due to the strong leadership provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that India was poised to emerge as a “world leader”. He said over 21,000 people of the country were brought back from Ukraine by launching ‘Operation Ganga’. He said a survey of Una-Hamirpur railway line has been conducted for which 75% of the cost would be borne by the Union government.

Hills, a tough climb for AAP

About AAP’s prospects in Himachal after its Punjab exploits, Thakur said that party has no future in Himachal. He said situation in Himachal is different from Delhi and Punjab. “AAP has offered freebies in Punjab but those promises will not be easy to fulfil,” he asserted.
