Kurukshetra man held for extorting ₹1 lakh from flesh trade accused

A case under Sections 384 (extortion) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused at the Mahesh Nagar police station in Ambala Cantonment

A man has been arrested for extorting 1 lakh from a girl accused of immoral activities in Ambala Cantonment, police said on Friday.

The accused has been identified as Amarjeet, a resident of Shahbad town in Kurukshetra.

Giving details, DSP Anil Kumar said the accused was arrested following a tip that he had extorted 1 lakh from the girl. “We recovered 46,000 from his possession on the spot and the rest is being verified. The girl is absconding, while her mother and sister are already behind bars,” he added.

A case under Sections 384 (extortion) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Amarjeet at the Mahesh Nagar police station.

Meanwhile, police have also arrested a couple from Saha for running a flesh trade racket in Pooja Vihar Colony of Ambala Cantt. The DSP said they had sent a proxy customer with money to the couple, which led to the arrest of the man, Tarun, and his wife. Two girls were rescued from the scene.
