A mob of around 25 people on Monday allegedly attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) main office located on the Amritsar bypass in Tarn Taran by hurling bricks and stones.
Upon receiving information about the incident, BJP Tarn Taran president Harjit Singh Sandhu reached the spot and a police complaint was filed (HT)
At the time of the attack, BJP general secretary Surjit Singh Sagar, party leader Shiv Kumar Soni and other workers were present in the office. They alleged the attackers also tore down BJP posters and splashed ink on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s posters.
When they tried to stop the attackers, the assailants allegedly engaged in physical scuffles, forcibly entered the office, vandalised property and threatened the workers.
Upon receiving information about the incident, BJP Tarn Taran president Harjit Singh Sandhu reached the spot and a police complaint was filed.
Tarn Taran SSP Surendra Lamba was not available over phone for a comment.
