Mohali police have arrested a Mataur village resident involved in multiple motorcycle thefts and recovered five stolen bikes from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Rohit Chauhan from Patiala. He was residing in a PG in Mataur village, Sector 70, Mohali.
The accused had stolen four Hero Splendor bikes and one TVS Apache. He used to specifically target vehicles parked in unattended areas. He operated both during the day and night, waiting for the right opportunity to steal the motorcycles without drawing suspicion.
Police tracked him down using human intelligence and arrested him. A case has been registered under Section 303(2) (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
