Punjab did not register any Covid death for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.
According to a medical bulletin, the state registered 65 fresh cases pushing the infection tally to 5,98,947. The number of active cases also came down to 559 and positivity rate to 0.16%.
Ludhiana reported 11 fresh cases, followed by seven in Ferozepur and six in Amritsar, the bulletin said.
With 84 recoveries from the infection, the number of cured persons has reached 5,82,102, it said. Till now, 16,286 persons have lost their lives due to the virus.
A total of 1,20,19,354 samples have been collected for testing so far in the state whereas 41,294 samples were tested on Wednesday, the bulletin said.
The state administered 91,190 doses of the Covid vaccine on Wednesday.
