Panipat | 2 minor brothers electrocuted to death

The incident took place at a private poultry hatchery in Panipat around 5pm when the victims Amar and Sanoj were returning home. They touched a wall which was in contact with high-tension wires and got electrocuted.

Two minor brothers were electrocuted to death at a private poultry hatchery in Panipat, police said on Sunday.

The bodies of the two minor brothers were handed over to family members after post-mortem examination. Investigation is on and the FIR will be registered on the basis of the statement of family members, said Panipat police officials. (HT File)

The deceased have been identified Amar, 2, and Sanoj, 3. Both are sons of a migrant labourer Rohit Kumar of Bihar.

According to police officials, Rohit worked at a poultry hatchery located on Chautala road and he, along with his family, lives in labour quarters near the hatchery.

The incident took place around 5pm when the victims Amar and Sanoj were returning home. They touched a wall which was in contact with high-tension wires and got electrocuted.

Family members rushed them to a hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

The bodies were handed over to family members after post-mortem examination. Investigation is on and the FIR will be registered on the basis of the statement of family members.

Labourer electrocuted in Yamunanagar

Ambala A 33-year-old labourer, working with a contractor of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, was charred to death after the pole he was working on, touched a high-voltage wire near Yamunanagar bus stand on Monday.

Investigating officer (IO) Anil Kumar said the deceased was identified as Dinesh a resident of Mustafabad in the district.

He was rushed to the civil hospital but declared brought dead.

The IO added that the pole touched an 11,000 volt active wire, but there was no negligence reported.

His fellow workers said that they were installing new lines on poles, when the incident took place and he must have died on the way while they were taking him to the hospital. An autopsy was conducted.

They demanded compensation for the family.

Superintendent engineer Rajinder Kumar referred the query to the XEN concerned, who remained unavailable on his official number. There has been no word from the department yet.
