Sonali Phogat's family to decide on seeking CBI probe after last rites
Speaking to news agency ANI, Phogat’s brother Rinku affirmed that the family believes that she was murdered but said that they were satisfied with the probe done so far.
Days after actor-politician Sonali Phogat died, her brother has said that the family would decide on a CBI probe into the death only after her last rites are conducted. The sudden death of the 41-year-old Haryana BJP leader - who had a huge following on social media - has emerged as huge shocker.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Phogat’s brother Rinku affirmed that the family believes that she was murdered but said that they were satisfied with the probe done so far. "After the last rites are conducted, the family members will decide whether or not we want a CBI probe into her death. We are sure that it was a murder. We are satisfied with the probe done so far," he said.
After the initial reports said that Sonali Phogat died of a heart attack, her family members said that the BJP leader was healthy and had no heart problems. They also said Phogat had hinted at something fishy while speaking to her family, a day before her death.
The autopsy report which arrived on Thursday revealed that there were multiple blunt force injuries over the 42 year old actress’s body while stating that cause of the death will be ascertained after futher analysis. Sonali Phogat appeared on reality shows such Big Boss and also contested the 2019 Haryana election against then Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi from Adampur constituency but lost to him.
According to her sister, Phogat was in Goa for a shoot and was expected home by Sunday.
