Sukhbir Badal seeks compensation for affected farmers

The SAD president visited affected fields in Muktsar district where farmers have reported widespread damage to their standing wheat crop. Farmers told him that they had not been paid damage for losses suffered by them earlier also. Many farmers who have taken land on lease said they faced an uncertain future and demanded that they be compensated adequately.
Sukhbir said it was condemnable that farmers had been left to their fate and that the chief minister was busy spending crores of rupees every day on advertisements and cheap gimmicks. “Instead of doing this,the farmers should be adequately compensated for their losses”, he said.
