Teenage girl dies by suicide in Karnal, 7 booked
Police said the incident took place on Wednesday when the Class 9 student was alone at her house. However, the police have booked seven persons for abetment to suicide and started the investigation.
A 14-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Taraori town of Karnal district.
The police said that the incident took place on Wednesday when the Class 9 student was alone at her house. However, the police have booked seven persons for abetment to suicide and started the investigation. The father of the victim told the police that he had gone out for work with his wife and on reaching home, they found her hanging with the ceiling fan. He also accused his two younger brothers of occultism and forcing his daughter to take the extreme step.
Soon after getting the information, a police team reached the spot along with an FSL team and the body was sent for the post-mortem examination.
Sandeep Kumar, in-charge of the Taraori police station, said on the complaint of the father of the deceased, the police have booked seven persons under Sections 306 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. He said the actual reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
