Three aides of Amritpal booked for snatching

The district rural police booked unidentified accomplices of Amritpal Singh, chief of Waris Punjab De, for rash driving and snatching motorcycle from a commuter near Sadiqpura village of Jalandhar district.

Police have recovered a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle (PB-67-2895) used by Amritpal’s accomplice while fleeing from Nangal Ambian Gurdwara on March 18.

Police said it was the same motorcycle which was seen in the CCTV footage gathered by the police.

“The accused fled towards a link road but their bike ran out of fuel near Talwandi Sanghera village. They then stopped a commuter, identified as Gurbhinder Singh at gunpoint, and snatched his Hero Splendor bike,” the FIR stated.

The case has been registered under Section 279 (rash driving), 379-B (snatching), 341 (wrongful restraint) of IPC and other sections of the Arms Act.
