Two Chandigarh cops arrested in graft case suspended
As per sources, the agency has affected recoveries from them and the case will be taken up in court now
A local court on Friday sent assistant sub-inspector Ravinder Kumar and head constable Randeep Singh Rana to judicial custody. They were in police remand for two days.

The two policemen, posted at Sector 24 police post, were arrested by the CBI on Wednesday for allegedly seeking a bribe of ₹1 lakh from a Dhanas resident to not implicate him in a rape case. A day later, they were placed under suspension and departmental inquiries were initiated against them.
As per sources, the agency has affected recoveries from them and the case will be taken up in court now.
The policemen have been booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of transcripts of conversations between them and complainant Ranjeet Singh.
