Two employees of Samalkha MC among 3 booked for property fraud

Two employees of Samalkha MC, a junior engineer and a clerk, allegedly helped a man illegally sell a part of his brother’s land

The Panipat police have booked two employees of the Samalkha municipal committee (MC) for allegedly helping a man sell a portion of his brother’s land illegally.

The MC employees include junior engineer Gaurav Kumar and Vikash, a clerk. The duo, along with Suresh Aggarwal, brother of the property owner, Ramesh Aggarwal, has been booked following a probe by a team comprising deputy municipal commissioner Jitender Singh, secretary Pardeep, municipal engineer Rajkumar and a police official Surender Singh.

As per the probe, Ramesh Aggarwal owns a piece of land measuring 620 square yards and his brother Suresh sold 64 square yards of it to two women – Manju Devi and Manita – after creating an illegal property ID with the help of MC employees Gaurav and Vikash.

Investigators said the MC employees created the property ID and no dues certificate using the signature of the MC secretary. Before creating the ID, they neither visited the property nor took the applicant’s photograph.

The three accused are facing a case under Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc), 478 (trade marks) and 471 (using as genuine a forged 1[document or electronic record) of the Indian Penal Code, registered at the Samalkha police station. Further investigation is underway.
