Two held with heroin, intoxicant powder in separate cases in Mohali

Police on Saturday evening arrested two separate individuals from different parts of Mohali, recovering 17 gm heroin and 35 gm intoxicant powder from their possession

Police on Saturday evening arrested Sumer Singh of Preet colony, Zirakpur, near the government high school, Gazipur, after spotting him trying to dodge the authorities.

During checking, police recovered 17 gm heroin from his possession.

In the second case, police arrested Sanjay Kumar of Phase 6 at a naka near Global business park on Chandigarh-Ambala highway for possession of intoxicant powder.

Police said they signalled an autorickshaw to stop, but the driver instead tried to drive away. He was stopped by police personnel, who upon checking the autorickshaw recovered 35 gm of intoxicant powder.

NDPS cases filed in Panchkula

Police had earlier on Friday arrested a man with 110 gram charas in Panchkula. The arrested person has been identified by the police as Irsaad Ahmed of Sector 15, Panchkula.

A team of crime branch, Sector 19, who were posted at Industrial Phase 1, arrested the person from a park in Sector 15. A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at the Sector 14 police station. The accused has been sent to two-day police remand.
