Woman, son drowned to death in Haryana’s Fatehabad

The deceased have been identified as Manju and her son Yatin of Barwala in Hisar, who drowned to death after falling in a canal, said Fatehabad police

A 27-year-old woman and her three-year-old son were drowned to death while her husband sustained injuries after the motorcycle they were riding fell into a canal in Fatehabad on Saturday night, said police. The deceased have been identified as Manju and her son Yatin of Barwala in Hisar. Her husband Vijay Pal, an instructor at ITI, has received injuries. A spokesperson of Fatehabad police said passersby rescued Pal and fished out his bike from the canal near Saniyana village in the district. Efforts are on to retrieve the bodies of woman and her son.

Computer centre inaugurated at MDU

Rohtak: Indian National Student Organization, an affiliate of the Jannayak Janta Party, on Sunday organised a ‘poetry conference’ at Rohtak’s Maharshi Dayanand University to mark the 61st birthday of JJP chief Ajay Chautala. Ajay and his son, Haryana deputy CM Dushyant Chautala, attended the programme and inaugurated the computer centre opened by INSO’s national chief Pradeeep Deswal. Deswal said he had received 5-lakh scholarship during his PhD which he spent on the centre.
