A 33-year-old woman allegedly sustained a bullet injury in a firing by an unknown person in Kurukshetra’s Railway Road Colony. The woman, Radhan Rani of Kaithal, has been referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, and her condition was said to be critical. However, the police have failed to get any clue about the accused. As per the information, the incident took place late Wednesday night when the woman suddenly collapsed in the market and later, she was taken to the civil hospital and doctors noticed an injury on her head. She was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh. Dinesh Chauhan, in-charge of Krishna Gate police station, said that the incident took place on Wednesday night and that during the medical examination, doctors confirmed that she sustained a bullet injury. Medical Superintend of LNJP Government Hospital, Kurukshetra, Dr Sara Agarawal said that the bullet was found in her head. The police said as per the statement of the victim, an FIR has been registered under Sections 307 of the IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act at the Krishna Gate police station against the unknown accused.

Protesting under the banner of the Mazdoor Union Van Vibhag, the demonstrators alleged that they were involved in the planting of saplings by the department but did not get their wages for the past several months. “We did not get our wages on time and this time our wages are due for the past several months,” alleged a woman protester. The protesters threatened to intensify their agitation if their demands were not met.

Man kills wife, lover over ‘illicit’ relationship in Mahendragarh

Rohtak A labourer allegedly killed his wife and another labourer over an “illicit” relationship at Mahendragarh’s Ateli town on Thursday, police said. The deceased have been identified as Sunita, 30, and Govind of Madhya Pradesh. Ateli police station SHO Santosh Kumar said the murder took place when a labourer identified as Akhilesh saw his wife and her friend, who is also a labourer, in an inebriated state. “On Thursday, Akhilesh went to the market for some work. When he returned home, he saw his wife and her lover in an inebriated state. He killed the duo with an axe. The victims’ bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination at the Civil hospital, Narnaul. We have booked the accused for murder charges and a manhunt has been launched to arrest him,” the SHO added.
