At least 4,233 motorists were issued challans for no-entry violations and improper parking as a 16-day-long special zero-tolerance traffic enforcement drive was carried out at Bikaner Chowk in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh, with the objective of ensuring smooth traffic flow, improving road safety, and mitigating chronic congestion in the Karol Bagh market area, Delhi Traffic Police said on Monday.

The enforcement action included 968 vehicles being towed away for violations, particularly illegal parking. The drive, from January 16 to February 1, was launched in response to complaints regarding traffic violations at Karol Bagh, said deputy commissioner of police (central range traffic) Nishant Gupta.
“The drive was aimed primarily at curbing no-entry violations, improper parking, and other traffic infractions that adversely affect vehicular movement and pedestrian safety at this high-density commercial junction. Enforcement teams were deployed throughout the period with clear instructions to adopt a strict zero-tolerance approach against violations. The zero-tolerance drive has resulted in a noticeable improvement in traffic discipline and smoother vehicular movement in and around the Karol Bagh market area,” added Gupta.
