Delhi man finds out about wife’s affair, she gets lover to kill him

A 42-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested for killing the woman’s husband in west Delhi’s Najafgarh on Sunday, the Delhi Police said on Tuesday. Police said they allegedly stabbed the victim to death as he objected to their relationship.

M Harsha Vardhan, deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka), identified the victim as 47-year-old Rajesh and one of the two suspected killers also as Rajesh. Both lived in Najafgarh with their respective wives and children and worked as sanitation workers in government schools.

“The woman was in a relationship with 33-year-old Rajesh. When her husband found out, he objected to it,” the DCP said.

Police said that last week, the woman (name withheld) and Rajesh allegedly decided to get her husband killed. On Saturday, the woman left for her maternal home in Sonepat, Haryana, with her two children, police said, adding that before she left, she told Rajesh about her husband’s routine and whereabouts.

The woman returned on Sunday afternoon and called the police to inform them of her husband’s death.

Police inquiry produced eyewitnesses who allegedly saw Rajesh visit the victim’s house on the day of the murder. Police questioned Rajesh during which he confessed to the crime, after which they also arrested the woman for conspiracy.

At his instance, the woman too was arrested for allegedly conspiring with him.
