Disabled 60-year-old man dies in Paharganj house fire, another suffers burns
According to the Delhi Fire Services, the fire control room received a call at 2.40pm regarding a blaze in a house at Chuna Mandi in Paharganj.
A 60-year-old physically disabled man died and another person suffered minor burn injuries after a fire broke out in a house in central Delhi’s Chuna Mandi area of Paharganj on Monday afternoon, officials said on Tuesday.

According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), the fire control room received a call at 2.40pm regarding a blaze in a house at Chuna Mandi in Paharganj. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control within half an hour.
At 4.20pm, the fire tenders returned and officials reported that the fire had broken out in domestic articles on the third floor of the building.
“One person who was physically disabled suffered burns. He was shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where the attending doctor declared him dead. The deceased was identified by his single name Ramesh. One more person, identified as Naresh, 58, also suffered minor burns on hand in the incident,” a fire official said.
Police said the cause of the fire was being ascertained, while the post-mortem report will reveal whether the victim died due to burns or asphyxiation.
