New Delhi: A private school in West Delhi’s Paschim Vihar on Thursday received an email threatening to blow up the institution’s premises, police said.
The incident was reported by a west Delhi school (PTI)
The email, cops said, was sent by a minor student from the same school, who reportedly “did not want to sit for an exam and wished for a holiday.”
Police were informed about the email by Vishal Bharti Public School on Thursday morning.
An officer said: “Standard protocols were followed and bomb detection squads and anti-sabotage teams were dispatched. A cyber team also visited the school and inspected the email. The threat was later declared a hoax and a case was registered.”
“Further analysis led to exact details of the device and connection used.
Finally, a minor studying in the same school was traced as the sender. The motive was to get the school to cancel the exam and declare a holiday. Further questioning and analysis of the device is underway.”
