Bhopal: Indians more prone to heart diseases because of several factors including a stressful life said experts at the inaugural session of the two-day national conference on heart and diabetes here on Saturday.

The causes of increasing heart diseases in India can be summarised in a single alphabet “S” that is saturated fat, smoking, salt, sugar, stress, sleeplessness and sedentary living, said cardiologist Pankaj Manoria.
Inaugurating the conference, health minister Rustom Singh said that people should adopt a healthy life style to prevent themselves from life style diseases like obesity, diabetes, heart attack etc. Walking and running are absolutely necessary for everyone, added Singh.
