Minor found dead in Rajasthan’s Tonk, murder suspected: Police

A minor boy was found dead with his hands and feet tied and his body hanging from a well in Rajasthan’s Tonk on Saturday evening, police said.

Police said that the incident took place around 5pm in the Mahendwas area, and a murder angle is suspected.

Tonk superintendent of police (SP) Rajrishi Raj Verma said that the boy, identified as Amaresh Meena, was last seen by his father heading towards a field on his bicycle.

As the boy did not return home till 7pm, the family members and locals started searching for him only to find him hanging from a well, said the SP, adding that they took him to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

“The body was sent for autopsy. We are searching for the perpetrators and will arrest them soon. The motive of the murder is also not clear yet. Further investigation is underway,” SP Verma said.

Meanwhile, an agitated mob staged a dharna demanding the immediate arrest of the assailant. They also demanded compensation worth Rs.5,000,000 to the victim’s family and a government job to one of the family members.
