Kejriwal to speak at Copenhagen Mayors’ summit next weekUpdated: Oct 02, 2019 20:15 IST
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will be among leaders from 20 prominent cities in the world to “endorse a declaration and pledge to reduce emissions in a set time frame” at the C40 World Mayors’ summit in Copenhagen scheduled to start next week.
“Several bilateral meetings are being planned for the delegation representing Delhi. The chief minister is also likely to make an announcement during an event on October 11 morning. In the summit, the CM will speak during a sessions titled ‘Breathe Deeply’. He will elaborate on new solutions in improving air quality,” said a senior official in the chief minister’s office.
Last month, the chief minister’s office had issued a statement saying he will attend the summit, in which he is likely to discuss the Aam Aadmi Party government’s fight against pollution in the city in the last four years, which includes measures such as implementing the odd-even road vehicle rationing scheme, phasing out power generators and controlling pollution of Yamuna.
