Fog-induced mishap on Yamuna e-way, six US nationals among 8 injured
Heavy fog, especially on roads connecting Agra with Mathura district (including the 165-kilometre Yamuna Expressway connecting Agra with NOIDA) had reduced visibility considerably. There were reports of other vehicle collisions on this expressway too, but no serious injuries to anyone were reported.
Agra Six foreign tourists from the US, who were going from Delhi to Agra, were injured in a road accident on account of heavy fog, on Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district on Tuesday morning. The two Indian drivers with them were also injured.
In another accident, a man was killed in Agra district when a truck collided with a car, also on Tuesday morning.

“The road accident in which six US nationals were injured took place at about 8 am within limits of Mant police station of Mathura district on Tuesday morning. These foreigners were travelling to Agra probably to see the Taj Mahal and were in a vehicle driven by one Subhash and his assistant Harpreet Singh, both residents of Delhi. All of them were injured when their vehicle (registration no. HR 55 AG 9952) collided with a container (registration number HR 38 AD 2578) in dense fog,” informed Trigun Bisen, superintendent of police (rural), for Mathura.
“The foreign nationals were identified as Louis (58), Andria (56), Carla (60) Katie (22), Rolanda (52) and Paul (53). They are all residents of New York, USA and have been hospitalized. Two had serious injuries but with no life threat while the other four were given first aid,” said Bisen.
In another accident due to fog, a man was killed and seven others were injured when a car collided with a truck at Sarendhi crossing within Jagner police station limits of Agra. The truck was seized and the body was sent for post mortem examination while the injured were hospitalized for treatment, informed police officials at Kheragarh police station of Agra.
A truck collided with a bus near Farah toll plaza on National Highway 2 on Tuesday morning because of fog. Other vehicles following them piled up, leaving half a dozen vehicles damaged. A dozen people travelling in the bus were injured and rescued.
A cold wave is sweeping over Braj area with temperatures falling constantly but there was bright sunshine in Agra later in the day on Tuesday. On Monday, Agra had recorded 20.3 degrees Celsius maximum temperature and the minimum at to 6.6 degrees Celsius
