G20 summit an opportunity to introduce Brand UP to the world: CM
Yogi said the G20, chaired by India, is proposed to have some separate programmes in Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh over one year
LUCKNOW Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that India is going to get the opportunity to preside over the G20, a group of the world’s largest nations, from December 2022 to December 2023, under the successful leadership of the Prime Minister and the global event is full of potential for Uttar Pradesh.
Adityanath gave detailed instructions to high-level officials for the successful organisation of G20 events in UP and tap the opportunity to introduce ‘Brand UP’ to the world, said a government spokesperson.
“This global event will serve as a great platform to introduce ‘Brand UP’ to the world. We should plan things accordingly. To make the whole world aware of the potential of ‘New India’s New Uttar Pradesh’, we have to systematically present the cultural, spiritual, social, economic and industrial features of the state. A comprehensive action plan should be prepared in this regard,” said Adityanath while reviewing various programmes for the overall development of the state at a high-level meeting here.
India is set to host the G-20 summit in Delhi with nearly 100 preparatory meetings in various parts of the country throughout the year ahead of the final summit.
Yogi said that the G20, chaired by India, is proposed to have some separate programmes in Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh over one year. “According to the Indian spirit of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, preparations should be made to make the event grand in these districts,” he said.
The Group of 20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation. Its members are: The UK, the US, and the European Union, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Turkey.
“The ancient art, culture, history, and archaeological features of the state should be compiled and presented on the G20 platform. For this, necessary research studies should be conducted by forming a group of historians, archaeologists, and art-culture experts,” he said.
“On Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in January 2023, people from different countries will unite. We should make efforts to connect the diaspora with the ‘UP Mathrubhumi Yojana’,” said Adityanath.
Talking about the National Education Policy, Yogi said it has better inclusion of theoretical and practical dimensions of knowledge. “The curriculum in educational institutions should be revised as soon as possible in accordance with the provisions of NEP. Necessary changes should be made to implement the system of four years of graduation,” he said.
The CM said courses related to technical and medical education should be prepared in the mother tongue. “It should be ensured that the content meets the highest quality. Verification of academic quality should be made mandatory for all higher and technical educational institutions in the state,” he stated.
He also asked officers to further improve digital connectivity and an action plan be prepared for the expansion of telecom tower/optical fibre in every village.
