Health minister's early morning cycle ride in Varanasi with an appeal. Watch
Earlier, Mandaviya participated in a bicycle rally on October 3 with a team of students from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, to raise public awareness on Tuberculosis (TB) elimination and non-communicable diseases.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday was seen cycling as he took part in a 5-kilometer rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi. After the ride, Mandaviya made an appeal to inculcate cycling in our lives as it "reduces pollution, traffic, and also promotes health".
In the video shared by news agency ANI, the minister can be seen cycling wearing a woolen cap and sweater amid chants of "Jai Shree Ram" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". “A cycle ride was organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha here. We want to give the message that cycling helps us reduce pollution, traffic, and it also promotes health,” Mansukh Mandaviya was quoted as saying by ANI.

The ride was organised on the second day of Universal Health Coverage Day celebrations in the city. Before starting his day, the minister visited the famous Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. "Cycling is not only the best exercise, but also it is a solution to pollution, and traffic. I want to give a message to the people that if your workplace is nearby or you have to travel near your residence, please do use a bicycle," added Mandaviya.
