“People who call me an outsider don’t know about me. I want to tell them that I have spent my childhood in Azamgarh. My masi, bua and a sister live here, so I am not an outsider,” said Yadav.

“By electing me as an MP, people of Azamgarh gave a befitting reply to all those who called me an outsider,” he added.

“I will build a house in Azamgarh and live here to serve the people… will work for development of Azamgarh,” said Yadav.

Yadav said he would ensure that people get benefit of schemes launched by the central and state governments.

The parliamentarian said he would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath for the development of Azamgarh while shooting of Bhojpuri films would also be promoted in the district.

Santosh Pahalwan, Bhojpuri film actor and a close friend of Yadav, said: “Saansadji will live in Azamgarh. Soon, a suitable plot will be bought for the construction of his house in Azamgarh.”

Pahalwan said the newly-elected MP will give pace to the development work in the district.
