No Covid death, 68 new cases reported in UP

No Covid-19 death was reported but Gautam Buddh Nagar reported 19 new cases while Lucknow reported six and Ghaziabad five. Zero fresh cases were reported from 52 districts in the state.

Uttar Pradesh reported 68 new Covid-19 cases but no deaths from across the state on Monday, the state health department data read. This year and since the third wave struck, it is for the first time that no Covid-19 death was reported in a day.

“There are 1,278 active Covid-19 cases in the state,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical and health, in a press statement on Monday.

Till now 10,61,39,522 samples have been tested in Uttar Pradesh, 1,10,192 of those being tested in the past 24 hours. In the past 24 hours, 101 patients recovered and till now 20,45,193 patients have recovered.

“The recovery rate in Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow is over 98%,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary-general, Association of International Doctors. UP has till now reported 20,69,963 Covid-19 cases and 23,492 deaths.

Uttar Pradesh has administered a total 29,49,09,246 doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine, including 16,53,83,099 first doses, and 12,71,86,801 second doses.
