UP Board exams: Govt to slap NSA on those found involved in organised cheating

With a view to putting an effective curb on use of unfair means in the upcoming UP Board exams for class 10 and 12, the state government on Tuesday warned to invoke the National Security Act (NSA) against those found involved in such activities.
As per a press statement issued by the state government, people found involved in organised cheating and use of unfair means will be booked under the stringent Act. In the statement, Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra warned to take strict action against those found spreading rumours on social media platforms while deploying the special task force of the UP police in sensitive districts.
Besides, the government has also directed that the exam papers will be distributed in the presence of office appointed by the district magistrate, the district inspector of schools concerned under police protection to prevent paper leak. “The government will also deploy nodal officers and use technology to monitor the exams to prevent use of unfair means,” said additional chief secretary, secondary education, Aradhana Shukla.
As per government officials as many as 51,92,689 students will appear in class 10 and class 12 UP Board exams at 8,373 exam centres this year. As per the UP Board time table released earlier this month, the exams to be held in offline mode for the students of both classes will commence from March 24, 2022 and continue till April 12, 2022.
