The Yogi Adityanath-led government will establish the state’s first Telecom Center of Excellence (CoE) in Saharanpur. IIT Roorkee has given the DPR to the state government in this regard. Work on this will commence as soon as the Yogi government gives the go-ahead.

The main objective of the CoE is to develop and promote new technology in the field of telecommunications.

The CoE will serve as a center for research and development, which will help experts in various fields, as well as help solve problems using state-of-the-art technology.

In addition, research on 5G will be conducted, with a primary emphasis on the potential uses for telecommunications. This will involve upgrading e-learning, e-education, agriculture, and satellite centres.

In addition, 5G will be connected to AI to enable the development of new technological devices. This will make it possible for Saharanpur to draw in investments from both domestic and foreign businesses and build a solid ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Research will be done on these sectors:

1. Fundamentals of Advanced Wireless Communication

2. 5G and Wireless Standards

3. Millimeter-Wave Transceivers Module Design

4. AI/ML for wireless communication
