Uttar Pradesh recorded a slight increase in new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday as 99 more people tested positive as compared to the 68 new cases on Monday, the state health department data read. No new death was reported during the day.

“In all, 1,12,760 samples were tested in the past 24 hours and 99 of them tested positive for Covid-19,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical and health in a press statement.
Among new cases Lucknow reported 14 against the six new cases reported a day earlier. Similarly, Gautam Buddh Nagar reported 22 new cases against 19 a day before. In all, 46 districts reported zero fresh cases. On Monday, 52 districts had reported zero fresh cases.
“Lucknow recorded a sharp decline in the number of active cases, as 87 more patients recovered. According to the data, the number of active cases came down to 138 from 209 in the past 24 hours,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary-general, Association of International Doctors.
In the state, 220 patients recovered in the past 24 hours and till now, 20,45,413 patients have recovered. The state has till now tested 10,62,52,281 samples and has reported 20,70,063 cases till now and 23,492 deaths.
Uttar Pradesh has till now administered 29,53,74,201 doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine, including 16,54,24,558 first doses and 12,76,05,659 second doses.
