According to the police, the incident was reported from Panchsheel Wellington highrise in Crossings Republik near NH24.

“The girl, identified as Vasudha Sharma, stepped over a chair that was placed in the balcony of her flat. While peeping down, she suddenly lost her balance and fell from the 10th floor,” said Surendra Yadav, Vijay Nagar station house officer.

“She was immediately taken to the hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival,” he said.

According to police, Vasudha’s mother was in the house at the time of the accident. She had gone to the kitchen to prepare food. The girl pushed open the door and went towards the balcony from where she fell. A while later, when Vasudha’s mother looked for her, she could find the child on the balcony or anywhere else in the house. She then looked down from the balcony and saw her daughter on the ground. The girl was then rushed to the hospital.

The police said Vasudha was a class 5 student at a private school in Indirapuram and her father works in a firm in Noida.
