135 AU students bag jobs with Infosys BPM Ltd

Of the 135 students who have bagged job offers, 122 are pursuing BCom, 11 are pursuing BSc (computer science) and two are pursing BCA.

Making their institution proud, 135 final-year students of BCom, BSc and BCA courses of Allahabad University (AU) have been selected by the Infosys BPM (business process management) Limited as process executives.

A felicitation function was also organised by the department of Commerce and Business Administration, AU in association with the placement cell to celebrate the unprecedented and record number of placements. Of the 135 students who have bagged job offers, 122 are pursuing BCom, 11 are pursuing BSc (computer science) and two are pursing BCA.

Senior manager, Infosys BPM, Vishal Saran congratulated and addressed the selected students. Vishal, who himself hails from Prayagraj and is an alumnus of AU, had completed his BCom in 2007 and at that time had a campus placement in Infosys BPM Limited.

He shared his insights on the post-pandemic changes in corporate and work culture. He acknowledged and appreciated the contribution of the faculty members of the university who have ensured that every student gets the best of teaching support along with a seamless learning experience during the most challenging times of the pandemic.

“The phenomenal and record campus selection of 135 students overcoming all odds has been possible due to the sincere and professional efforts of the placement cell and the department as well as the entire university family,” said Vishal.

AU’s public relation officer, Prof Jaya Kapoor said, “Selection in such large number is a record in itself and the students would be getting an average annual package of around 2.5 lakh per annum. Moreover, the students would be able to continue with their studies in top class management institute along with their jobs.”

The chief guest of this programme was dean (commerce), Prof Prashant Kumar Ghosh while head of the department of Commerce and Business Administration, Prof AK Malviya presided over the function.
