A gang of burglars targeted a store of cigarettes, beedi and other tobacco products on Bahadur Ke Road in Salem Tabri in the wee hours of Tuesday. The five accused have been captured on the CCTV cameras installed at a nearby shop, the store owner said.

The store owner, Keemti Lal, 52, of Manmohan Colony of Bahadur Ke Road, claimed that he incurred a loss of ₹3-lakh to ₹4-lakh. He said he came to know about the incident at 3am when one of his acquaintances telephoned him.

Assistant sub-inspector Gurpreet Singh, the investigating officer, said the police have lodged an FIR against the unidentified accused. The police are scanning the CCTVs to identify the accused, he added.
