Police attach ex-MP Atiq’s property worth ₹6.50 crore

A team of Puramufti police accompanied by senior police officials, reached the site on Friday and put up a sign board at the plot owned by Atiq mentioning the attachment order.

Prayagraj police attached another property of former MP and mafiosi-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad in Kasari Masari area on Friday. The property was purchased by Atiq Ahmad through his illegally earned money and is estimated to be worth 6.50 crore, police said.

A team of Puramufti police accompanied by senior police officials, reached the site on Friday and put up a sign board at the plot owned by Atiq mentioning the attachment order.

SP city Santosh Kumar Meena said, the 0.1320 hectares of land was owned by Atiq and has been attached under section 14 (1) of the Gangster Act. The property was purchased by Atiq through illegal means, SP city added.

Earlier on Wednesday, police attached Atiq’s properties worth over 123 crore in Jhunsi area.

Police officials said that more properties of Atiq, his kin and associates are being identified and action will be taken against them under Gangster Act.
