LUCKNOW City’s La martiniere College on Wednesday shot a letter to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), claiming that security of it’s students and staff was compromised when an unannounced chopper landed at the college grounds, while the annual sports day event was in progress.

Besides DGCA, a complaint has also been registered with the Directorate of Air Safety, according to principal Carlyle McFarland. He added that the district administration -- including divisional commissioner Roshan Jaccob, district magistrate Suryapal Gangwar -- were also informed, seeking further directions.

The school management has also said that they had intimated the concerned authorities about the sports day event and that the intimation was sent much in advance to the police official for managing transport and security.

Despite the incident, the 139th Sports Day events for the College will continue on Thursday, assured Principal McFarland.
