While reviewing the situation in the district on November 21, the DM decided to withhold the salaries of Bansgaon, Gola, Chauri Chaura and Sadar Nagar SDMs, district agriculture officer, pollution control officer, regional sports officer, and BDOs of Khorabar, Sahjanwa, Kauri Ram, Gola and Jungle Kauriya.
In another development, municipal commissioner Avinash Kumar Singh found that over 500 sanitation employees had been skipping work despite the attendance sheet suggesting otherwise.
The issue came to the commissioner’s attention after corporation officials conducted surprise checks in ten zones under the corporation limits.
During the spot inspections conducted over three days, as many as 1,650 employees were found to be absent from work.
The civic chief has, thus, decided to stop a day’s salary of the employees found to be at fault, and sought an explanation from the sanitation supervisor.
