Agra District administration and police officials have made tight security arrangements in all the eight districts of Braj region for the counting of votes scheduled on Thursday. Senior officials also reviewed the arrangements at counting centres during the day.

“The counting for the five assembly seats, including Agra North, Agra South, Agra Cantt, Agra Rural and Etmadpur, is to take place on Mandi Samiti premises, Agra. The EVMs are stored with full proof security demarcated in three tiers,” stated Agra SSP SK Singh at Mandi Samiti premises.
“The Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) has been assigned the security of the innermost isolation cordon, and state police are responsible for two outer layers. Those entitled are only allowed to enter the premises and effort to disrupt peaceful conduct of counting would be foiled strictly,” stated Singh.
Talking to media, Mathura SSP Gaurav Grover too warned anti-social elements to stay away from the counting process or face tough action.
Kalanidhi Naithani, Aligarh SSP echoed similar sentiments and said “Required force is available including central armed police force, PAC and state police beside lady police.”
District magistrate of Firozabad, Surya Pal Gangwar, held a meeting with political party candidates and asked them to cooperate in maintaining peace and harmony on the counting day.
