Pune teen dies by suicide after father scolds her
An 18-year-old girl died by suicide in Pune district after allegedly being scolded by her father for being on her phone instead of studying.
An 18-year-old girl reportedly died by suicide in Ghodegaon, a town in Pune district.
According to preliminary investigations, the youngster jumped off the terrace of her home on May 8 after allegedly being scolded by her father for being busy with her phone instead of concentrating on her studies.
The incident occurred on Monday, and immediately after the incident, the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
According to police official Navnath Wayal, PSI, of Ghodegaon police station the deceased was a Class XII student and the only child of her parents.
“We have filed a case of accidental death in this regard and further investigation is on. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, and the girl’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination,” Wayal said.
