Ajit Pawar’s last rites to be held at Vidyaprathishthan in Baramati today

Ajit Pawar’s brother Shrinivas Pawar has appealed to party workers and citizens to gather at Vidyaprathishthan

The last rites of Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar will be performed at the premises of Vidyaprathishthan educational institute in Baramati at around 11 am on Thursday.

Given the large turnout expected from political leaders and people from all walks of life, the spacious ground at Vidyaprathishthan has been selected for the last rites. (HT)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and leaders from several states are expected to attend the funeral.

Ajit Pawar’s brother Shrinivas Pawar has appealed to party workers and citizens to gather at Vidyaprathishthan, where Pawar’s mortal remains will be kept for darshan.

Given the large turnout expected from political leaders and people from all walks of life, the spacious ground at Vidyaprathishthan has been selected for the last rites. The institute is located near Baramati airport and Bhigwan Road Chowk.

Family members reached Baramati on Wednesday afternoon. Senior leader Sharad Pawar and his wife Pratibha Pawar reached Baramati from Mumbai, while MP Supriya Sule and Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar and his son Parth arrived from Delhi earlier in the day. The family later decided that the last rites would be held on Thursday morning.
