Fire breaks out at restaurant in Viman Nagar; no casualties reported

Large quantities of food items, packaging materials, and other combustible materials stored inside the restaurant were destroyed in the fire

A major fire broke out at Zeeshan Restaurant in Viman Nagar on Wednesday afternoon, causing extensive damage to kitchen, furniture, chimney, and other infrastructure. No injuries or casualties were reported. According to fire brigade officials, the blaze is suspected to have originated in the kitchen chimney connected to the furnace before spreading from the ground floor to the first and second floors of the ground-plus-two-storey building, which also had a tin shed on the terrace.

Large quantities of food items, packaging materials, and other combustible materials stored inside the restaurant were destroyed in the fire.

Fire officer Sopan Pawar said, “We received the fire call at around 12:59 pm. According to the chef, the fire started in the kitchen while food was being prepared. Two fire tenders from the Yerawada and Dhanori fire stations were immediately dispatched. The blaze was brought under control within 20 to 25 minutes.”
